Solano County Fair Says Thank You on Military Appreciation Day

Free admission on July 31 to active duty military and their families

Solano County, CA – The Solano County Fair wants to say “Thank You” to the active duty military and their families at Travis AFB and other military bases throughout the region by offering free admission to active duty military and their families on Friday, July 31. “Just show your military ID and a smile to have a great time,” said Fair General Manager Stephen Pierce. Military Appreciation Day is made possible in part by a sponsorship from Momentum Auto Group.

There is a lot of excitement packed into Friday at the Solano County Fair. Thrilling rides, animal exhibits, a craft and premium beer garden, a parade, a health fair and even a giant sandbox where kids can dig for gems and redeem them for prizes. Also on Friday, The Solano County Veterans Services Office will have counselors on hand at the Fair to help veterans connect with their benefits. There will also be an original Batmobile and an early Jeff Gordon race car on display in the County & Cities Expo on Friday and every day of the Fair.

The free headline concert on Friday at 8 pm features Yesterday – The Beatles Tribute on the newly redesigned Galaxy Stage. “Even the concert venue has a Travis AFB connection,” Pierce said. “The venue was reimagined this year to pay homage to the C‐5 Galaxy. Travis Air Force Base is such a significant part of Solano County, we wanted to have a year‐round connection here at the Fairgrounds.”

The Solano County Fair opens Wednesday, July 29 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 2. Fair hours are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Military members in uniform receive free admission any day of the Fair.
